TradeSyncer setup, the short version

Four steps, twenty minutes, no install. Everything you need to get one trade copying across every account — and the test that proves it works.

Four steps, about twenty minutes the first time. After that, adding an account takes seconds. This is the short version — if you want every setting explained, read the in-depth guide instead.

Before you start, know which platform each of your firms runs on. Apex is Rithmic or Tradovate, MyFundedFutures is ProjectX, Lucid is Rithmic, Tradeify is Tradovate. You connect platforms, not firms.

The four setup steps and the daily routine that follows Four setup steps in sequence — sign up, connect your leader account, connect and configure followers, then activate and test. After that, each trading session is just a connection check followed by trading as normal. The whole thing is front-loaded. Once it's running, your daily routine adds about thirty seconds.

The four steps

  1. 01 Sign up Email and password at tradesyncer.com. Nothing to install — it's all browser-based, and there's a free trial so you can set the whole thing up before paying.
  2. 02 Connect your leader Your leader is the account you'll actually click on. How you connect depends on the platform: Tradovate sends you through a login redirect, Rithmic asks you to pick your broker system — choose the one named for your specific prop firm, not the generic option — and ProjectX wants an API key you generate inside ProjectX and paste across. On ProjectX, turn off its own internal copier first. Two copiers running at once will double your orders.
  3. 03 Add your followers and set them up Connect the rest of your accounts the same way, then for each one set the size ratio (same as the leader, double, half, or the micro contract instead), assign it to a group, and give it a daily loss limit. Don't skip the loss limits. They're the reason to use this rather than a free copier — they stop one bad session from taking every account down together.
  4. 04 Test, then turn it on Toggle copying on, then place a limit order on your leader far away from current price — somewhere it can't possibly fill. Check every follower shows that same pending order. All there? Cancel it and you're live. One missing? You've found your problem in the calmest possible way.
Never test with a live market order. A resting order miles from price tells you everything a real trade would, without risking a fill you didn't want across twenty accounts.

Five habits that keep it stable

  • Weekly Check connections before the week opens Brokers drop connections over the weekend. Confirm everything's green and every ratio is still right before Sunday's open.
  • Always Think in total exposure Twenty accounts at one contract each is a twenty-contract position. Set your daily loss limit against the total, not against what one screen shows you.
  • Orders Avoid orders the broker will reject Pending orders placed on the wrong side of the market get rejected and won't copy. Use market orders or correctly-placed stops and limits.
  • Session Glance at the all-accounts view Partial fills and API hiccups can leave one account slightly out of step. A look a few times a session catches drift before it matters.
  • Safety Know where the flatten button is Find it now, while nothing's happening. You don't want to be hunting for it during a news spike with twenty positions open.
Set it up on a quiet evening, not ten minutes before the open. This is infrastructure, not a trade.

If something isn't copying

One follower missed the trade
Check it's connected and not paused
Nothing copies at all
Check copying is toggled on
Orders arriving doubled
ProjectX's own copier is still on
Pending order didn't copy
Broker likely rejected it — wrong side of market
Follower stopped mid-session
It probably hit its daily loss limit
Leader disconnected
Followers keep open positions — flatten manually

That last one matters. If your leader drops its connection, followers stop receiving new copies but open positions stay open. Nothing closes itself. Flatten the group or close at the broker directly.

That's the whole setup. If you want the reasoning behind each setting, the full pricing breakdown, and the mistakes that cost people accounts, the in-depth guide goes much further.

Get funded with Lucid

Once your copier is running, adding another account takes seconds. Lucid is one of the firms I add to my own group.

Enter ABHI at checkout — that's what applies the discount and credits the sale to me. Buy without it and neither happens.

This is my personal experience, not financial advice. Trading futures carries risk, including loss of evaluation fees. Copy trading policies, platform features and pricing change — always confirm the current rules with your prop firm and the current pricing on the provider's own site before relying on anything here.
