TradeSyncer, in depth

Every feature, every setting, what it costs, what your firm allows, and the habits that keep twenty accounts stable. The long version.

This is the long version — every feature, what each setting actually does, pricing, compliance, and the habits that keep twenty accounts stable. If you just want it running, the five-minute setup guide will do.

The model, properly

Three concepts. Everything else is a setting hanging off one of them.

  • Leader The account you trade by hand Every signal originates here. It's an ordinary account — the only thing that makes it the leader is that it's the one you click on.
  • Follower An account that mirrors the leader Each one is configured independently: its own size ratio, its own risk limits, its own micro-versus-mini setting, and a pause toggle that stops it copying without disconnecting it.
  • Group One leader plus its followers A self-contained copy environment. You can run several, and close one out entirely without touching the others.

Trading normally Locked — hit its own loss cap
Two groups running different sizing, with one account locked by its own risk limit A leader account feeds two groups. The funded group holds three accounts trading full size, one of which has hit its own daily loss cap and stopped receiving trades while the others carry on. The evaluation group holds two accounts trading half size on micro contracts. One account locking itself out while the other four carry on is the single best argument for a paid copier. Free ones can't do this.

Groups — the part most people miss

Most people set up one group and never touch the feature again. That's leaving the best bit unused.

Each group is its own copy environment with its own leader and its own followers. So you can run aggressive sizing on funded accounts and careful sizing on evals, split funded from evaluation entirely, or keep a scalping set separate from a swing set — and close out one group without touching the other.

Every feature that matters

  • Speed Sub-100ms execution Routing happens on their cloud servers, and the platform claims fills reach followers inside 100 milliseconds. Real latency depends on each broker's API, but for normal scalping and day trading you won't see meaningful price drift between accounts. Treat the number as their claim, not a guarantee.
  • Risk Per-account limits Daily loss cap, profit target and session lockout, set individually. When an account hits its cap, that account stops receiving copies and everything else carries on. Important: the lockout is inside TradeSyncer only. It stops copies reaching that account — it does not lock it at the broker, so you could still trade it manually.
  • Sizing Cross-order copying, micro and mini Your leader trades an E-mini, a follower automatically trades the micro instead. Useful for small evals that shouldn't carry full size, for mixing $50K and $150K accounts at proportional risk, and for testing something on micros while running it live on minis.
  • Records Built-in journal Every copied trade logs automatically across all accounts, so you can see which accounts are lagging the leader and why. Also saves a separate journal subscription, which typically runs $30–80 a month.
  • Fills Market execution only mode Forces followers to use market orders. You lose price control but avoid the sync drift that partial limit fills cause. Worth it on volatile entries where a guaranteed fill beats a good price.
  • Safety Flatten All and Flatten Group The panic button. Closes every open position in one group, or across everything, instantly. Find it before you need it.

Pricing, and what a "connection" means

Three tiers, monthly, with a free trial and a discount for paying annually. Pricing changes — check their site for today's numbers.

PlanMonthlyAnnual, per monthConnections
Basic~$49~$392
Pro~$99~$794
Flex~$149~$119Unlimited

A connection is one platform login, not one account. Ten Apex accounts under a single Tradovate login is one connection. Ten Lucid accounts through Rithmic is a second. So most two-firm traders, however many accounts they hold, fit inside the entry tier — which is why people routinely overbuy here.

Every plan includes real-time sync, unlimited groups, bracket orders, risk controls, the journal, an economic calendar, and mobile plus desktop access. The tiers differ on connections and account capacity, not features.

On discount codes: promo codes float around for this and they do stack with annual billing, but they rotate and expire constantly. Check what's valid at checkout rather than trusting any code you read in a guide — including this one.

Best practices from running it live

These are the habits that keep things stable once you're past a handful of accounts.

  • Weekly Health check before the week starts Every connection green, balances correct, ratios still right. Brokers drop connections over the weekend and a silently disconnected follower is a position you think you have and don't.
  • Always Test with a far-out limit order Place a leader limit miles from price and confirm every follower shows the same pending order. Do this after any change to your setup, not just the first time.
  • Always Think in total exposure Twenty accounts at one contract each is a twenty-contract position. Your daily loss cap has to reflect the combined number, not what any single screen shows.
  • Orders Avoid invalid pending orders Rithmic, ProjectX and Tradovate reject pending orders placed on the wrong side of the market — a sell stop above current price, for instance. Rejected orders don't copy. Use market orders or correctly-placed stops and limits.
  • Session Reconcile after partial fills Followers drift out of sync through partial fills and API hiccups. Build the habit of checking the all-accounts view a few times a session.
A copier amplifies whatever you already do. If you lose on one account, you'll lose ten times faster across ten.

Who shouldn't use it

Worth being blunt, because the wrong user pays a subscription for nothing.

  • Skip it Single-account traders There's nothing to copy to. Save the money.
  • Skip it NinjaTrader-only, 2–3 accounts One-time-purchase copiers exist for NinjaTrader and work out far cheaper over a year.
  • Skip it Topstep as your main firm Topstep runs its own platform with a built-in copier and restricts third-party support. Use theirs, or pair Topstep with a copier-friendly firm for the rest of your accounts.
  • Don't Latency arbitrage Exploiting a fast copier against a slower prop feed is a bannable offence at most firms. Not a grey area.
  • Don't Hoping it fixes a losing strategy It won't. It multiplies whatever you're already doing, in both directions.

Compliance

Copying between accounts you own, using a third-party tool, running your own strategy, is generally permitted at Apex, MyFundedFutures, Tradeify, Lucid Trading, Bulenox, Take Profit Trader, TradeDay and Top One Futures.

Banned at most firms: latency arbitrage; coordinated group trading, meaning several unrelated traders firing the same trade at the same moment; and copying someone else's external signals into a prop account, which varies firm by firm.

Stricter firms outside the futures prop world — FTMO and FundedNext among them — enforce "real market" rules that prohibit coordinated execution even across accounts you own yourself. Different ecosystem, different assumptions. Be careful if you're crossing between the two.

Policies change, so check the specific firm's FAQ before connecting a new account. Compliance is binary — you're inside the rules or you're banned.

Common questions

  • Do I need a VPS? No. It runs in the cloud, so your machine can be off entirely. Some traders run one anyway for leader-account feed reliability, but that's an optional extra cost, not a requirement.
  • Can I trade stocks or options with it? No. Futures only — the whole thing is built around the futures ecosystem.
  • What happens if my leader loses connection? Followers stop receiving new copies until it's restored, but open positions stay open. Nothing auto-closes. Flatten the group or close at the broker directly.
  • Can I copy from someone else's account? Technically the leader/follower model allows it, but the product is positioned for your own accounts, and external signal copying gets complicated on the compliance side very quickly.
  • What about refunds? There's a free trial covering the testing period. Beyond that, check their billing page before committing — don't take my word for it.

The honest verdict

It's the default infrastructure choice for multi-firm prop futures traders right now. Not because it's cheapest — it isn't — but because it's the one tool covering the full Rithmic, Tradovate, ProjectX, NinjaTrader and TradingView spread cleanly, the per-account risk controls genuinely work, the cloud setup removes VPS headaches, and Groups solves the multi-strategy problem properly rather than as an afterthought.

Running five or more accounts across two or more firms, with copying central to how you operate? Pay the subscription. The maths works the first time it prevents one multi-account loss day.

Running one or two accounts on one platform? Wait. You're not the target user yet, and there's no prize for buying infrastructure early.

Get funded with Lucid

TradeSyncer only earns its subscription once you're running several accounts across more than one firm. Lucid is one of the firms I scale at.

Enter ABHI at checkout — that's what applies the discount and credits the sale to me. Buy without it and neither happens.

This is my personal experience, not financial advice. Trading futures carries risk, including loss of evaluation fees. Copy trading policies, platform features and pricing change — always confirm the current rules with your prop firm and the current pricing on the provider's own site before relying on anything here.
